What is an Entrepreneur Opportunity Seeker? In my opinion, opportunity leads are people looking to start their own business. For the purpose of network marketing, an opportunity seeker is someone looking to get involved in some type of home-based business. They are actively searching for an effective way to become a home-based entrepreneur. They do so for a variety of reasons, but the most common reasons are the desire to make more money, the desire to become their own boss or the desire to work from home.
Once people make the decision to start their own Home based business, they usually search for “business entrepreneur opportunities” on the internet. In many cases, they click on “pay-per-click ads” and visit different work from home websites. Ninety-five percent of the time these people won’t join any type of “work from home business” they find online. Instead, they’ll just scan the web page and then hit the back arrow to leave the website.
As you can see, they’re really just curious. They’re not SERIOUS. They’re brainstorming ideas and looking for different ways to make money online. Simply put, opportunity leads are not your ideal prospects. Your ideal prospect is someone already involved in network marketing or someone looking to get involved in network marketing.

Don’t Waste Your Money Opportunity Seeker
Many network marketers focus their marketing efforts exclusively on opportunity seekers. They promote their MLM business online using pay-per-click advertising to get “Money Making opportunity seekers” to visit their websites and learn about their products and services. And most of the time they achieve horrible results.
I don’t want this to happen to you, so I’m going to share a secret with you. DON’T WASTE YOUR ADVERTISING BUDGET ON OPPORTUNITY SEEKERS. That’s right. I said it. Don’t make the common mistake of thinking your ideal prospect is someone looking for a business opportunity. It’s not.
Opportunity Seeker Your Ideal Prospect
As I mentioned earlier, your ideal prospect is someone already involved in network marketing Advertising or someone actively looking to get involved in network marketing. That is the person you want to advertise to. You see, most people want nothing to do with Internet network marketing. If you advertise to “opportunity seekers” you will achieve horrible results because opportunity seekers usually aren’t looking for network marketing opportunities. Even if they don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, they don’t want a network marketing business. And if they do end up joining the industry, they’ll just quit a month or two later.
I know this is hard to swallow. It took me a long time to learn myself. That’s one of the reasons I created this website. I want to educate multi-level marketers about effective advertising techniques and I want to advertise to my TARGET MARKET. I know that network marketers will visit my website and ask me for additional information about what I have to offer. You need to take a similar approach. You need to stop wasting your time with opportunity seeker leads and start marketing your business opportunity and products to other network marketers. If you do that, you will improve your chances of success.
On a side note, I’m not saying that you can’t sponsor opportunity seekers into your multi-level marketing business. You can. Many distributors sponsor lots of opportunity seekers. But if you follow this approach, you will just work harder and spend MORE money on advertising than you really need to. Think about this for a moment. Would you rather sponsor 100 opportunity seekers who don’t know what they are doing and end up quitting the business, or sponsor six serious business builders who build a large downline? If you have any common sense whatsoever, I know you would rather sponsor the six serious business builders. You have a better chance of sponsoring business builders if you market and advertise to other network marketers.
A Good Alternative Opportunity Seeker
But, let’s assume that you think I am foolish. Let’s assume that you’re still going to search for opportunity leads. What should you do? Well, if you’re going to advertise to anyone outside of your target market, you should advertise your products and services and not your business opportunity. Let me say that again so you understand. If you decide to advertise to people who are not part of your target market (other network marketers) you should advertise your company’s products and services, not the business opportunity.
You should follow this advice because you have a better chance of finding a new customer than you do finding a new distributor. Ninety or more out of every 100 people will want nothing to do with your business opportunity. But I bet you could find at least 30 out of 100 people who would be interested in your products or services. And you NEED retail customers. They provide an immediate profit for your business. And many of them will upgrade to get their products at a wholesale price. Either way, it’s a win-win situation for you.
Final Thoughts For Opportunity Seeker
In conclusion, the Importance of Opportunity seeker is not your ideal prospect. Successful network marketers focus their advertising efforts on prospecting people already involved in the industry. This allows them to duplicate themselves faster while maintaining higher retention rates. Other successful network marketers focus on selling their products and services first, and then “upgrading” their happy customers into distributors and business builders. You should follow the same approach if you want to build a large and profitable multi-level marketing business.

Hi Muhammad,
That’s very true. I have wasted a lot of time and money looking for opportunity seekers. They never stay around beyond the first couple of months when they realise that money won’t drip automatically into their pockets. Then they quit and you have to replace them.
I’m already doing what you suggest and leading with my products which works much better.
